Joel Medgebow, Esq. — Founder & Managing Attorney
Joel Medgebow founded Medgebow Law, P.A. in 2010 with a clear mission: provide every client with the kind of aggressive, personal legal representation that actually makes a difference. A University of Florida-trained attorney admitted to both the Florida Bar and federal courts, Joel has spent over 15 years fighting for individuals and businesses throughout Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Saint Johns, and all of South Florida.

Education & Academic Achievements
Joel earned his law degree cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law — one of the top law programs in the country. During law school he was selected for the University of Florida Trial Team, competing in multiple national competitions and helping the team win the Florida Bar Competition. He also served as an Assistant Editor of the University of Florida Entertainment Law Review and as a Teacher's Assistant for the University's Trial Practice Workshop, mentoring the next generation of litigators.
For his undergraduate studies, Joel attended Florida State University, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Business Administration.
Early Legal Experience
Before founding his firm, Joel gained extensive hands-on legal experience across multiple disciplines. He served as a Certified Legal Intern with the prestigious Virgil Hawkins Criminal Defense Clinic, spending a year at the Alachua County Public Defender's Office where he represented hundreds of clients on felony and misdemeanor charges. He also worked as a Summer Associate at Tripp Scott, one of South Florida's established litigation firms, applying legal research and courtroom skills across a wide range of practice areas.
As a law student, Joel interned for Broward County Criminal Circuit Judge the Honorable Jeffrey R. Levenson, developing deep expertise in criminal procedure and case strategy.
Community Involvement
Joel remains actively involved in the South Florida legal community. He is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and the Broward County Bar Association. He serves as a Judge and volunteer for Nova Southeastern College of Law's Nova Trial Association, helping train the next generation of trial attorneys. He is also an active member of both the University of Florida and Florida State University Alumni Associations.

Louis earned his Juris Doctorate cum laude from Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 2010 — graduating with honors and on merit scholarship. During law school he received the prestigious Krupnick & Campbell Award and the Order of the Barrister Award, given to students who display exceptional excellence in trial advocacy.
His leadership extended beyond the classroom. Louis was elected President of the Nova Trial Association, served as a Research Assistant to his law professors, worked as a Certified Legal Intern for the Broward County State Attorney's Office, and interned for Broward County Criminal Circuit Judge the Honorable Martin J. Bidwill.
For his undergraduate studies, Louis attended the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences at Nova Southeastern University, earning a degree in Legal Studies with minors in Business, Criminal Justice, and Psychology.
