Joel Medgebow, the founder of Medgebow Law, is a skillful, talented and experienced trial lawyer and litigator practicing personal injury, debt defense, business matters, commercial and corporate law, criminal defense, real estate, and landlord/tenant law.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Medgebow served as a certified legal intern with the Virgil Hawkins Criminal Defense Clinic. As a CLI, Mr. Medgebow spent a year working for the Alachua County Public Defender’s Office in which he represented hundreds of clients for various felony and misdemeanor charges. He also worked for the South Florida law firm of Tripp Scott as a summer associate in their litigation department, applying legal research and litigation skills to various genres of law.
As a law student, Mr. Medgebow interned for Broward County Criminal Circuit Judge, The Honorable Jeffrey R. Levenson. During his time as an intern, Mr. Medgebow keened his skills in criminal law, learning the intricacies necessary to navigate a defendant through the legal system in order to resolve their issues.
Active in the local community, Mr. Medgebow is a good standing member of the Broward County Bar Association, the Florida Bar, and he participates as a Judge and volunteer to Nova Southeastern College of Law’s Nova Trial Association. In addition, Mr. Medgebow participates in the Florida State University, and the University of Florida’s Alumni Associations.
Mr. Medgebow holds a law degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. During law school, he was selected as a member of the Trial Team, where he competed in multiple travel competitions, helping the University of Florida Trial Team win the Florida Bar Competition. Mr. Medgebow also served as an assistant editor of the University of Florida Entertainment Law review, as well as a teacher’s assistant to the University of Florida’s Trial Practice workshop, helping law students hone in on their litigation skills.
For his undergraduate studies, Mr. Medgebow attended the Florida State University, graduating magna cum laude, where he received a degree in criminal justice and a minor in business administration.
